Joel’s new digs on the Westside

At long last, Joel has joined Jeff and me on Atlanta’s Westside, where we plan to open our brewery. Joel lives just a stone’s throw from Jeff’s with his lovely wife, Mary Stuart. Jeff and Hannah invited me over for dinner last night (how it pays to be the pathetic single male friend, sometimes). It occurred to us that we hadn’t yet seen Joel’s new house, so we stopped in for a visit. Bringing with us the required growler of Eye Patch Ale for admission, of course.

Not only was it nice to get together outside of brewing (believe it or not, I actually like Jeff and Joel), it was awesome to see our brewery dreams coming together in such a tangible way. Here we are, officially part of a geographic community.

And the new Iverson pad is, as Joel would put it, “Nicers.” I could prattle on about the light fixtures for days. But I won’t. Suffice to say that none of them match each other, but all of them collectively match the house the the period of the architural details. And the tile. THE TILE.

Don’t get me started.

that widow’s walk makes a certain rooftop brewer rather jealous. Congrats. Nothing like an old house to take time away from brewing.
