Those kids with their emails and their car phones…
Sometimes I take it for granted that we’re doing something different here. Launching a brewery using primarily Web 2.0 tactics would be completely unrealistic even 5 years ago. Now, however, it just makes sense. It’s more cost-effective than traditional marketing, it allows us to engage people where they are (surfing the interwebs), and it allows for much greater targeting. The real downside is the carpal tunnel syndrome. I may hire a sherpa to type for me.
Why the Web 2.0 sentimentality? I was at Nathan and Nicole’s last night for a yummy neighborhood dinner (with a side of tornado warnings). Nathan’s dad broached the subject of Facebook. Or, as he termed it, “the Facebook.” Have you heard about the Facebook? Apparently it’s going to be big. I don’t buy it.

I think Facebook’s business model is too streamlined and focused for it to dissipate any time soon. It’s more than a fad. It’s evolving. That’s my take =)
