MNB sees the light

Joel’s connecting flight to Atlanta was delayed last night, so we had another productive brewing session without him meddling in the “grown-up affairs.” We brewed another batch of our Swashchuckler IPA in anticipation of the March 15 party (mark your calenders – invitations coming soon). I feel good about this batch. For one, we were actually able to scrounge up the hops we normally use in this recipe (Northern Brewer, Cascade and Simcoe), despite the hop shortage plaguing the nation.

For 3 weeks in a row Monday Night Brewery has been a little light on the ol’ attendance. I’ve been attributing it to the cold, but last night was beautiful. So I’m wondering if I’m too intimidating a figure? Perhaps my deft maneuvering and quick wit has been scaring people away? If that’s the case, I have no problem toning it down. I can’t turn it off completely, but I can mute the brilliance of the flame.

Speaking of brilliant flames, here’s a shot of Jeff starting down death and/or a carboy. Show that yeast the business, Jeff!
