It’s not the fact that Stella sent us a press kit, it’s the principle of the thing
Many big brewers have started to tap into us humble bloggers in an effort to market themselves more effectively (most notably Flying Dog). To this end, Stella Artois recently contacted us and wanted to send a press kit. Now, we’re not huge fans of Stella beer, but the fact that a big brewery contacted us directly was flattering. We giggled ourselves to sleep for a week.
The folks at Stella (or Stella’s ad agency?) have gotten into blogging lately, and seem to be on the verge of launching a new campaign. The press kit arrived a few days ago, complete with a rather cool set of beer coasters:

Morals of the story:
- Beer blogging is becoming a legitimate means of communication
- We are finally respected enough to get a little piece of that sweet macro-marketing pie
- Stella and Flying Dog are leading the charge among the big breweries (Does anyone know of any other big brewers hooking up the blogosphere?)

Franziskaner sent the boys over at SevenPack.net a nice gift package this last week. I remember Redhook sending The Brew Site a nice case of Longhammer IPA. Pretty cool little gifts.

Interesting. That would definitely be a welcome gift.

And here I thought I was Stella’s main man! That whore of beers.
