New converts to the mint chocolate stout float
They laughed at Christopher Columbus when he claimed that the world was round. They scoffed at Jonathan Baker when he claimed that he had developed an amazing new dessert: mint chocolate chip ice cream and mint chocolate stout. History has proved the naysayers wrong on both counts.
I tested this fresh concoction on Steven and Martin (and for you beer-loving ladies, Steven, the guy in the white tee, is single). The key to enjoying a mint chocolate stout float, I’ve realized, is to look at it like a good dessert that happens to incorporate beer. Kind of like a bourbon chocolate cake or something. But not, because it’s better.
So who’s laughing NOW?!

Last year I attended a beer and dessert pairing hosted by Lew Bryson. The last pairing of the evening was a beer float made with Heavywieght Brewery’s Perkuno’s Hammer Imperial stout and black raspberry ice cream that was also made by the folks that made the beer. I was a bit warry of how it would taste, but Lew hit the nail on the head. It was terrific! I had mine and another from someone who didn’t want their’s. Unfortunately, Heavyweight was going out of business. (Fortunately, Victory started brewing it this year.)

That sounds delicious. When in doubt, trust Lew!
