Mint chocolate stout float. Yup. You read correctly.

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Listen up, naysayers. My roommate just bought some mint chocolate chip ice cream. I had a mint chocolate stout in the fridge. I did what any normal human being would do. I mixed them together to create the world’s first (probably) mint chocolate stout float.
I didn’t expect much. I’ll admit, it sounds nasty. But it [...]

This month’s pint glass winner: some “Mike” guy

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Congrats to Mike from St. Louis for having the wherewithal to have his name chosen at random! He has already stepped up to claim his prize, but there’s still plenty of time to sign up for next month’s chance to win two fully functional Monday Night Brewery pint glasses.
We’re glad Mike won because he brews [...]

Mmmm. Mint chocolate stout!

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

After a successful experiment of dry hopping our chocolatey stout with mint leaves, we are going to try to turn our Lumberjack Stout into a Mint Chocolate Stout. There’s nothing like starting the mash to “Run to You”, starting the sparge with “Everything I Do” echoing around the porch, or tossing in that first handful of [...]

It’s Monday!

My favorite day of the week has finally arrived! We have a very busy evening ahead of us so if you want to join us your help would be greatly appreciated.
Brewing - 10 gal of the Weiss Guy - plan to use fresh orange zest this time as a new experiment
Bottling - 10 gal [...]

The last 2 gallons…

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

While visiting my parents in Nashville this weekend, I decided it might be a good idea to take care of some beer-related house-cleaning. I sterilized a bunch of bottles (we have 20 gallons of IPA to bottle/keg tomorrow) and I finished etching measurements onto the inside of our stainless steel brewpot.
I etched up to 12 [...]
