Mint chocolate stout float. Yup. You read correctly.
Listen up, naysayers. My roommate just bought some mint chocolate chip ice cream. I had a mint chocolate stout in the fridge. I did what any normal human being would do. I mixed them together to create the world’s first (probably) mint chocolate stout float.
I didn’t expect much. I’ll admit, it sounds nasty. But it ISN’T nasty! It’s DELICIOUS! It’s so good, in fact, that I drank it much too quickly. I was so excited about it that I am currently writing this post buzzed. Under the influence of mint chocolate, as it were.
Yes, I realize this doesn’t sound like the manliest drink ever. That’s because it’s not. But it’s amazing nonetheless, and to prove it, I’m going to bring ice cream to Monday Night Brews tomorrow to let everyone try it.

Gentlemen, love your insights, musings, tales and pictures of your lil’ hops but I have to stand up and say YOU ARE LOSING FOCUS MAN. PUT DOWN THE ICE CREAM SCOOPER AND STEP AWAY FROM THE DAIRY.
Just brew good beer. and drink it. Cold. Without foreign substance.
I have said my peace. G’day. :)

I’ve always been tempted to put ice cream in stout but not brave enough to do it. I’m glad you were the guinea pig though :-)

Definitely some goodness… I, for one, loved the stout float.

I did this a couple of years ago with a Guinness and some vanilla ice cream. Delicious! I have even tried it with Young’s Double Chocolate with better success. The mint twist sounds worth trying as well.
Beer…its not just for breakfast anymore!
